Jessica Wood serves as the Clinical Nurse Consultant for Acute Stroke at QEII Hospital in Brisbane, bringing a decade of specialized expertise in neurosciences, emergency care, and nursing education. The majority of her career has been centred in Brisbane, Jessica has also experienced nursing in rural Queensland, where she honed her advanced nursing skills as an emergency nurse. Jessica is deeply committed to acute stroke care and dedicated to advancing healthcare within the nursing profession. She holds a Graduate Certificate in Acute Care Nursing and a Masters of Professional Nursing Practice. Her unwavering commitment to excellence in patient care was recognised with the Nurse of the Year award at QEII Hospital, where she played a pivotal role in significantly improving door-to-CT times, enhancing dysphagia screening compliance in emergency departments, and driving ongoing advancements in code stroke processes across the hospital.
